Crag features

Single pitch sport crag. The only bolted Rhyolite crag in the region. Routes 15-28m high, abseiling from chains. Newly bolted (circa 2010), with good quality materials. Situated in the Esterel region, but a 45 minute uphill walk into the crag.

Great friction, grades 4-7a (and a 3m grade 2+), shade from the sun for belayers, and probably climbable all year round. Some routes have had the rock chipped to aid footholds, but this improves the crag.
Enjoyable traversing/bouldering possible across the bottom of the crag.

Approach notes

Nearest parking is just inland from the port at Theoule-sur-Mer, or get one of the stopping trains between Nice Ville and Les Arcs Draguinan.
Turn right at the traffic lights immediately west of the Gare de Theoule-sur-Mer on the D6098. Left fork when this turns into a private road. Park at the end (or walk through the tunnel from the port).
From the top of the parking follow the forestry road as it winds up the hill, through two hairpins. At the clearing and path junction take the middle track, and immediately fork right at the wooden signpost for 'Col des Monges'. After 15 minutes of climbing following yellow paint markers the path flattens out. Keep walking as it opens out until you see a cairn on your right and rocks above. This is the crag. If you get to the col then turn around and look for the cairn after 4-5 minutes. Climb the steep path from the cairn to the base of the crag.
Walking boots and/or poles recommended. It'll be downhill on the way home!
