Crag features
Lagada is located 15km along the road from Sparta in the direstion of Kalamata. It is composed of various crags on each side of the gorge. More sectors have been added recently.
Approach notes
NOTE: it seems that car break-ins are common at the car park. The locals seem to leave nothing at all in their cars and leave doors unlocked and windows open to stop would-be greaves from smashing windows!! If you have valuables in your car / van leave a security guard or park by the Splithari sector.
Aloni crag is above the main parking area. A 4 minute walk in. A small, free, climbers hut and pit toilet has been built below it.
The track to the impressive Petsanes sector heads up hill from the Aloni sector. Follow the signs. Approach time: 8 mins
There are various other sectors on this northern side of the gorge.
To get to the Splithari sector walk / drive 100m or so further up the road from the main parking. A gravel track heads off to the left. The crag is about 200m down here on the other side of the dry river bed. Much better to park down here as you can keep an eye on your car.
