Crag features

Sibada offers easily accessible, mostly vertical climbing with many decent routes in the 6b to 7a+ range. The crag is popular at weekends and with those seeking morning shade in the summer, or afternoon sun in the winter. The road under the crag runs to the ruins of the Château de Miglos, which once defended the Valley of miglos.

Sibada faces west, is quick-drying and comes into the sun at around 1pm. It is sheltered from the wind.

Approach notes

From Tarascon-sur-Ariège, take the D8 up the Vicdessos valley to Niaux. Before leaving the village, turn left onto the D156 signposted to Grotte de Niaux and Miglos. After 100m take the right fork (Miglos) and continue up the hill for a further 300m to reach parking on the left on the grass verge a short distance before a large boulder leans over the road (5 cars). There are other small parking spaces up and down the road if needed.

The small path to the crag starts 20m beyond the boulder and heads up leftwards into the trees, reaching the crag after a 5-8 minute uphill walk.
