Fluebrig over the Wägitalersee © rlrs

Crag features

Fluebrig is a prominent hill at the head of both the Sihlsee and the Wägitalersee with four peaks that are quite close to each other and can be linked-up to give a varied day out, given also the non-extreme height gain from the valley of ca.1200m for a basic ascent.

The highest peak is Diethelm, with several routes which are all harder than a walk, with various degrees of scrambling, steep rough ground or cable protected rocky sections, and even a short ladder in one place. Wändlispitz has the easiest route to the summit, just a walk, but also some harder scrambles and rock climbs. Turner is quickly reached from the central col at pt.2038m along a grassy ridge, exposed in places and with a short rock step, while the Fluebrig northeast summit ("Wyss Rössli") requires the ascent of a rough, grassy, rocky slope.

Approach notes

From the Wägital side, parking is available along the road at the southwest end of the Wägitalersee.

From the Sihltal side, parking is available at Oschenboden.
