You can abseil from the summit of Agagula in 3 direct long Abbs with a doubled 70m rope. However the last abb is about 45m. Beware or take two ropes!
There are two ways to access this crag. First, you can go by boat e.g. from Cala Gonone into the little bay of Cala Goloritze, swim with your gear to the beach and walk a few minutes up to the needle.
Alternatively, you can drive by car to Baunei. From there you take the road called Oville Bertarelli up through Supramonte Di Baunei to the car park and cafe at Su Porteddu. There is a small charge for parking. A reasonable footpath to Cala Goloritze starts here and the walk takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
As of Oct 2024 at least there's a hut at the start of the approach path. There's a charge of €7 per person to access the cove (not sure if this is just access to the beach or to the climbing). You can pay by card having contactless on your phone as your only option can be a risk. Their internet was dodgy the morning we tried it and initially they couldn't take payment from us. You can book online but this has to be done the day before at least. I would recommend taking cash to make sure. RBonney - 13/Oct/24 |
