Crag features

A 4 to 5 hours drive from Ciudad de Buenos Aires, this is one of the closest fine rock spots to climb outdoors around Argentina's capital.

There is a mixture of trad and sports routes, which don't go too much beyond the 25 metres in height.

Approach notes

Accommodation is in the hut/ campsite by the rock. You need to register in advance. Website: http://www.sierralavigilancia.com/index.php.

The site is located on km 43, right by the road that links Mar del Plata and Balcarce (route 226).

The 2000 edition of the guidebook can be downloaded here: http://www.sierralavigilancia.com/ViasEscaladaVigilancia-Guia-del2000.pdf

A newer version is sold at the campsite.

This is near my hometown! There are a lot of sport climbing in the area. Unfortunately problems with landowners makes it complicate to share topos and to create guides. It is a pity because the area has good potential for rock climbing.
