Rocktype Sandstone (soft)
Andy's high step © Hamfunk
The sandstone ranges from damp, to dry but explosively soft, to pristine and permanently dry.
Beach level varied which impacts the landings in the stacks areas. As usual please refrain from climbing on wet sandstone as it is prone to breaking.
As you descend to the bay, the stacks are on the left end of the beach and the throughhole cave, etc are at the right end.
If travelling from Elgin towards Cummingston, after Duffus there is a T junction to Hopeman (west) or Lossie (east). Take the dirt road on the other side of the T junction and park at the end without blocking the field or gate. Pass the gate and follow the track for approx 200m (Cove Bay sign gone Sept-15), taking a small path on the left through gorse to drop down into the bay.

|This is a great venue bouldeing wise...so many great lines and projects. Well done Hamish and chums for developing and sharing such a jem.
Remember to take as many pads as possible as the big stoney beach through the wind tunnel is not something you want to land on padless...i did...it hurt.|
