Øysand is an area 20 minutes driving south of Trondheim that has a large potential for lines and cragging. The best known route is the local testpiece Øysand Pillar (WI5) on the headwall above the Brekk tunnel (when driving from Trondheim) on the E39. However, there are sections that hold large potential single-pitch cragging with easy access and top-roping possibilities as well as some longer flows that deserves attention. Much of the ice is close to the road, so you can use the street-lights for evening sessions.
As easy as it can be. Drive off the E39 at the ramp just east of Brekktunellen. Ice is roadside.
