Nicely featured and grippy schist overlooking a remote feeling meadow. Some very fine routes on mainly good rock.
Oversold in the SMC Highland Outcrops South, the routes are still relatively untravelled and as a result the rock isn't amazing but would clean up well. None of the routes are 3 stars but what is there is very enjoyable with a great outlook, fiddly but well protected with a selction of small-medium nuts and cams. The climbing finshes after 18m but the belay is 7m back and up the heather with the possibility of another 15m back as mention in HOS. It's quick and easy to set up an abseil descent meaning multiple routes can be climbed quickly and the crag stays dry(ish) in damp South Westerlies.
30 minutes approach time if you follow the guidebook description to the letter, the paths are very good up until you leave the big tree but the crag is only 15 minutes from that point. 45 minutes if you get lost or battling summer bracken.
See the SMC Highland Outcrops South guidebook for a very good description on how to approach the crag. It is not visible until you are practically underneath it.
The area is used for stalking, so the usual precautions should be taken in the season.
