The DWS spot can sometimes get very busy with the salmon, as they can't get past the waterfalls and gather in the pool below. Due to this, please be mindful of chalk use. Climb only climb with a light dusting in the bag.
There is a camera installed at the dws crag, presumably a wildlife cam.
Dippers have now flown at DWS 22/07/25
Access to climbing at all the locations here is allowed under Scottish access laws.
Mountaineering Scotland and the Moray Council access officer have been in contact with the estate owner after it was reported "The land owner approached us today as we were walking down the tarmac path/road towards the bouldering at Slochk Nan Cean and stated that he doesn't want anyone to go climbing on his land."
The estate owner has been explained our rights to access bouldering, and understands that they have no liability. However, the estate owner reported removing "relatively significant amounts of rubbish" from the base of the crag. Please take all your (and anybody else's) rubbish away from the crag with you.
Really great climbing on the Tomb. Tick central... Fatneck - 06/Oct/23 |

Nice spot and obviously a lot of work gone into it but underwhelming climbing. DaveHK - 17/Apr/22 |
