Crag features

An interesting fin of rock jutting out from the side of a low vegetated cliff offers a few routes to try out if passing by.

Characterized by an outline shape of a Lion or Sphynx sat facing inland, the crag contains 4 archways increasing in size from the sea-to-land direction. A weird mix of natural rock features and some boulders cemented together almost to the point of a brick wall, care should be taken for loose rock and plant species growing on the faces. Midge repellent doesn't go amiss either!

The crag offers a few hours evening entertainment if staying at the FSC Millport centre just down the road (formerly Marine Biology lab)

Descent from all routes by scrambling down the seaward ridge. Keep an eye out for any Porpoise or other cetaceans in the Clyde.

Approach notes

Walk 500 north from the FSC centre along the Island's ring road, hop over a metal gate and cut through the vegetation to the rock feature.
