Rocktype Limestone
Altitude 694m a.s.l
Faces W

Crag features

A steep crag with quality rock and very good harder climbs, well worth a visit. It faces due W and gets morning shade. There are name plates at the foot of most routes.

Several routes stay dry in the rain.

There is an easier angled sector at the R with some ok, but shorter easier routes (13m). If you are wanting easier routes you may be better checking Mont Robert. The middle section has many long steep quality climbs 22/25m in length, with varied rock types, big features and varied moves. The left sector is shorter again 15/18m with more compact rock, smaller features and again good steep routes.

Approach notes

Drive through the village of Crenans past the fountain/old wash house and take the Rue de la Foret . Go up the hill for a couple of hundred metres to the parking on the R side of the road, on a L hand bend. The information board is on the L side of the road and the path goes from there. Rope in place up the first few rocky metres of path. Walk in approx 5 mins.

Parking N 46.456307 E 5.742054

Restricted Access

15th Feb to 15th June - bird ban on 'northern section of the crag'. From looking at the information board at the parking I think this may just be the LH sector.

Sat and Sun afternoon's from Sept to Jan the hunters may be about near the crag. They have to have warning noticeboards and lookouts posted if this is the case.
