Rough granite, but weathered round, so a bit more like Dartmoor Tors: not like Alpine granite at all. Not worth a trip, but fun if the weather in the Alps is crap. Although the climbing is in the sun, there's lots of shade around under nice old trees, and lots of boulders to scramble over - fun for kids. Some 27 recorded climbs from 4b - 7a, mostly single pitch. Bolted, but quite widely spaced, and not easy to protect more with trad gear, but descent is easy, so top-roping is possible.
On the road between Fondolace and Gravellona take a small side road between a church and a railway. Follow road (hairpins) to small hamlet of Montorfano. Take a track rightwards (NW) up hill for 300-400m or so.
