The broad east-facing sweep of Start Bay offers bouldering on perfect wave-washed schist between the villages of Beesands and Hallsands. Pads and spotters are useful as many of the problems are above dodgy landings. Sand levels vary tremendously over time so sit-starts should be taken with a pinch of salt. Problem descriptions can be found in the Climbers Club South Devon (2018) guidebook.
Park at the far end of Beesands village beyond the Cricket Inn. Walk south along the beach towards Start Point.
Went to try find a load of stuff today and I reckon most of the problems in the guide like salmon leg are gone, need someone who’s been there before to confirm though! PilkingtonD - 18/Jul/25 |

This is named wrong and the location is in the wrong place on the map. This is 'Beesands' page 92-96 in the new South Devon guide. andy_pemberton - 26/Oct/18 |
