The closest largest and most easily accessible mountain to Longyearbyen. Also by the name of Nordenskiöld Toppen.
A very popular mountain for weekend hikes by the locals and features often in the Longyearbyen Ti På Topp.
Summit is marked by a mast, hut and cairn.
Approach notes
Access to Nordenskiöld Toppen is open to everyone and is easiest via Tverrdalen. This can be accessed in summer by foot for hiking or by snowshoe, skinning or snowmobile in winter.
