Fuente Du is a unique area that is very easy to access if you dip into your pocket and pay for the Teleferico. If you do this the high altitude sport climbing can be as little as 15 minutes walk from the top of the cable car. DOn't be fooled though by the short approach walk, these routes need treating with the same respect of any high alpine rock route. Prepare for some loose rock, fast changing weather, route finding challenges and careful descents. Know your limits and be prepare to turn around if you are not going to make it to the top in time.
Approach notes
From Potes, go up the CA-185 towards Fuente Du. This is 23km and takes around 30 minutes as the road slowly winds its way up into the hills. There are several places to park near the Teleferico and the return trip cost less than €20 in 2023. The Teleferico runs from around 9am every morning and, if you like mountain biking, they do allow uplift on the earliest rides up.
