A small but attractive venue consisting of a roof and a couple of blocks. The rock is very good and the location is grand, providing fine views and soaking up any sun that is going.
From Lofthouse in Nidderdale take the Yorkshire Water Scar House Reservoir road that starts just north of the village. Take the track that branches off the road at Newhouses (right of way uncertain – please back off if requested) and leads up to a junction with the track that traverses the hillside at Summerstone Lodge. Turn left at the track and use the turning place to return eastwards to where you can pull off the road by two large grit blocks. Walk along the track, taking the uphill branch just before Bracken Ridge. As this track approaches a wood on the right a quad track goes leftwards. Follow this to a fence and go along this to a big wooden gate. Pick your way carefully between the recently planted trees to the rocks.
