Beginner-friendly but sparse outcrops with good views of the North-West Lake District. Currently only a few named routes, but there are several long rock faces which can be traversed with ease - these are clearly visible from the approach up the hill. More rock with scope for development.
Accessible from the main road through Pardshaw Hall next to the Quaker meeting house, via a short path leading to a gate. Continue uphill to meet the first long rock outcrop, and cross a stile beyond that to the second outcrop and then to the "quarry" rock at the top. There are two smaller outcrops to the East (head right from the first crag) near the furthest right fenceline with more rock further North.
Privately owned with permitted access
Nice little crag to do some low down bouldering and traversing, with more sheer faces available in the Quarry, although due to spread out nature it is hard to find some of the set routes. Cal.Dunlop - 01/Jun/20 |
