Crag features

Camphill is ideal for hot summer days and not recommended after longer rainy periods. The crag of Camphill consists of 3 bouldes which are dispersed in a wonderful, almost magical forest. The biggest and by far most interesting sector is Il Tempio with routes that are true masterpieces, especially those above the 7th french grade. The two other sectors are somewhat hidden and more difficult to find - Sport Climbing in the Dolomites (Guide book).

The route notes say natural protection (nut symbol) but they are all bolted.

Approach notes

Drive along the dirt forest road (it says no access unless working) following the track marked in the map above, the track levels our just before the crag next to a beautiful meadow on the left (marked Natural Heritage site), 50m further on is a large "parking bay" on the right with some large "construction" boulders it its end. Park here. Walk 60m along the forest road until you reach a walkers sign post pointing up and right, to a smaller rouger 4x4 track on the right, walk up this for 30m and you can see the first boulder sector Il Tempo on the right in the forest.

Just beyond this 4x4 track is a boulder with marked boulder problems on it written in blue, if you get here you have gone too far. The road 100m further on from this boulder is blocked by a huge land slide (June 23)

For the other sectors (Lacrime di Gioia and Metropolis), walk along the gravel road for about 200m until you get to an older forest road which branches off to the right in the direction of the forest (don't follow the orad that runs into the dense forest). Just after (about 10m) a trail starts which leads first to the sector Metropolis and then in a westerly direction to the sector Lacrime di Gioia. There are several paths in this forest and hence it is best to use the sketch for orientation - Sport Climbing in the Dolomites (Guide book).  -

No Access Issues

The forest road to the crag at the bottom has a sign which says in Italian (no access unless working), but climbers do use the track to access the crags by car.
