Crag features
Climbing areas in Shosenkyo were developed during early 1980s by two different groups. It was once abondaned but rediscovered in the 21th century. Now it receives decent number of climbers. Some areas are still under development.
Season: Best from October to May.
Approach notes
Best by car. 20 minutes from Kofu. Follow rocal road 104, turn left at a corner with local shop Famili Mart, keep following 104 to Chiyoda Primary School, turn right and follow rocal road 7 "Green Line". In 5 min, free car park controlled by the prefecture will be foud on the left. Some areas are located beside a river that runs along the Valley Road. Note that the Valley Road accepts restricted car access from May to November.
Access Advice
Most areas are in a private land. Some areas also overlap with a turist spot. Visitors should respect landowners property rights and local businesses especially in turist season from May to November.
