Rocktype Limestone
Altitude 200m a.s.l
Faces SE
Orpesa del Mar
A small sunny sector with 9 routes on excellent quality limestone. It has 4 quality routes well worth doing. The 6a and 6b at the left hand end and the 4 and 4+ at the right hand end. It faces SSE and in mid-March was in the sun until 3:30pm.
New sector El Dorado, long routes on good quality rock mostly in high 6's & 7's and a couple of 2 pitch routes also. Slightly further up the same track, catches the sun all day.
From Orpesa take the road towards Cabanes at a roundabout. Use the crag photo to locate the buttresses you are aiming for. Immediately after going under the A7 motorway the small road you are on goes 90° right. At this point a smooth tarmac and dirt track goes off left. Go along this for approximately 800m until directly below the crag at a parking area, with a track leading up through the orange groves.
Walk up the track and then follow some small cairns up the old terraces to the crag. 10-15 mins easy approach. (See crag photo)
For El Dorado either use the same parking (necessary for LWB vans) or follow the 4x4 track about 1km until a small parking spot on the left hand side. From here there's a small cairn almost directly opposite which follows a dry stream bed all the way to the crag. It's a 30min walk from the furthest parking so not too far.
