Crag features
The roof of Cavalo is east-facing and does not receive any sun during the day, so this area is a good option for hot summer days. The rock is limestone with powerful steep climbing on crimps and pockets.
Approach notes
From Malveira, take the N247 and enter the village of Almoçageme. Follow the Rua da Praia da Adraga westwards for 2km to the beach of Adraga. The access to Praia do Cavalo can be done in two ways:
- On a very low tide, you can walk directly from the beach of Adraga to Cavalo, passing the cliff on the shoreline.
- At the big bend before the beach, take the dirt track and turn right onto a trail that heads uphill. At the top of the cliff, take the steep path that goes down to the beach on a narrow passage.
