Crag features

The highest peak of the Wägital, now eclipsing the adjacent Mutteristock by 1m after re-measurement

The easiest route is the short north-east ridge, T5 in the SAC grading system, starting from pt 2213m which can be reached from the Wägital (north-west) side. The only real difficulty is a reasonably pleasant 8m corner, after traversing on the south side of the ridge shortly before the summit, with grade II climbing. The upper part of the corner can even be bypassed using the grassy slope on the left. Alternatively, staying on the ridge is reported to give more sustained grade II climbing.

The other main route is the west ridge, starting from the col to the east between Räderrtenstock and Mutteristock, which can be reached from both the Wägital and Obersee / Klöntalersee (east) side, yielding grades of PD and AD respectively. As ever in this part of the world, see the hikr.org website for many trip reports and photos.

Approach notes

From the Wägital side, several parking spots at the south end of the Wägitalersee near the start of the path at pt.918.
