Due to the ongoing spread of Covid-19, please abstain from climbing outside.
At UKC we are all climbers and we understand the strong urge to be outdoors as the weather is finally improving, but we feel this is no longer socially acceptable. You can read our statement here.
We have suspended the UKC Logbooks Top Ascents and Conditions pages and we will no longer accept ascents dated from 23rd March onwards. You can still upload your historic ascents.
Altitude 1775m a.s.l
Slab climbing in beautiful, remote scenery next to a picturesque lake. Single pitch climbing on micro knobs and friction moves. Although the face itself is quick drying, the cracks and routes below the bulge will be be damp in autumn and winter months.
Follow the N339 to the parking lot at the bottom of the ski slopes 'Estância de Ski da Serra da Estrela' - head down into the valley and right following an obvious path towards the 2 big lakes. Keep the lakes on your left side passing along the dam walls until you find yourself overlooking a smaller lake, scramble/down climb to the lake and you will see the westward facing slab.
