Crag features

A sandstone wall running the width of the A1M close to Great Lumley. Two obvious aretes and lots of traverses and up problems.

Really pumpy, sustained and technical traverses, made more difficult due the the paint over the grafitti. Your fingers will get a fab workout.

Good footwork is also essential. A bouldering mat is handy to start off of.

Nearly always dry. Catches the evening sun on the arete sections.

Regularly gets a re-painting so the pic's depict the venue at some time in the past.

Approach notes

From Chester-Le-Street take the A183 towards Shiney Row. Turn right onto the A1052 and immediately right. Follow the road into the valley and park close to the Smiths Arms.

No Access Issues

No known problems

A great spot with excellent crimpy climbing that gives a great finger workout
