Crag features

Extremely solid rock in a beautiful mountain setting, the area is still being developed and is mainly in the low grades so a great place for beginners and people who are new to outdoor bouldering. The landings are mostly flat and the top outs are generally quite straight forward, the rock is clean and extremey grippy so the main thing to look out for is the sheep poo! More information to be added ASAP

Approach notes

Park in either of the carparks for the Black Mountain Quarries Walk/ Herberts Quarry (the northern most carpark is slightly quicker) just off the a4069. Follow the Northern most setion of the quarry walk in an Easterly direction contouring around the hill. You should be able to see the rocky outcrop after a few minutes off in the distance in front of you. The walk is overall quite flat and only takes around 20-25 minutes although it looks much further! After about 15 minutes you will cross over a stream that runs off into a gully with waterfalls on your left. Head towards the boulders which are north east of you and you will reach them in around 5 minutes. In good visibility you are able to see the boulders most of the way so navigating is easy.
