Not a bad spot for summer cragging. © salancaster
Very well equipped and cleaned crag. 'Created' summer 2019, solid and great for a team keen for swimming, tanning, eating, drinking, a lie in! - oh....and climbing good quality routes. 5 minutes walk from Kampi beach. Faces the right way for summer afternoon fun. Main face in the shade from about 12 in August, Left hand side about 1. Comes back in to the sun in the evening, starting with the right hand side. The rock is good, as are the routes. A bit of something for everyone. Leather handed crack monsters will love dancing up one or two of the lines. Spring/Autumn - Can be cold in in a southerly wind - great in summer!
1 hour walk from Vathy. Follow good path with red paint to the ravine, turn right to Kampi beach. Crag is above on the right, or left when viewed from the sea. Alternatively, see the gentlemen in the Galini restaurant on the quay side. They offer a 'free taxi boat for climbers' in exchange for a bit of custom, their fresh fish on the barbee is superb. Boat ride 10 mins, past the dws and other sectors. All good fun - arrange a return time. Kalymnos Kayak centre will hire you a kayak, paddle out of the cove turn left/north and you will see Kampi beach after about 10/15 minutes. Other boats will take you out for about 20 doubloons.
