An obvious pinnacle standing above the main ring road on top of the Eyjafjoll cliffs. This rather inspiring summit is worth the tricky but fun approach. The current climbs are of high quality, on good rock and the area commands fantastic views of the surrounding land. All of the current routes are classics.
20m abseil or loose scramble descent.
Parking at the cafe, Gamla fjósið. Hike up the obvious gully to the north of the cafe which leads to a red cliff, walk climbers right (east) and over a small scramble section, along the red rock band to the next gully. Climb up the cliff using the blue rope in situ (farmers use this every year and it is well attached to a large boulder). Again walk to the right (east) to the next grassy gully, scramble up the steep grass and leftwards (west) into a small bowl. A fairly obvious easy slope to the west leads to the top where the approach to the climbing becomes obvious.
