The narrow island of Eilean Cam lies a couple of kilometres to the northwest of Portnahaven. The island is separated from the mainland by a narrow, part tidal, defile. There is climbing on the slabby landward side of the defile but the better climbing is located on the island side.
Take a minor road northeast out of Portnahaven turning left after 700m towards Claddach and park at a designated grassy area, before a white cottage, above the fine little sandy beach. Walk north along the minor road to a small loch then head north along the coast to opposite the island.
