An incredible location. It has a real end of the world feeling. Almost always breezy. Beautiful crystal sharp granite features. It has in the past had a reputation for the climbs not being long enough but there are actually some 25metre long uninterupted lines. Plenty here for the adventurous types.
Bryher has a campsite and accomodation and is well serviced by the boats from St. Marys. Shipman's Head itself is a bit of a walk from 'the town' and also requires a small swim across 'The Trench'. This will probably require dry bags (a good thing to have generally on IOS anyway). Watch out for the jellyfish in the trench. Other access could be via kayak or craft along the coastline.
Shipman's Head hasĀ a seasonal bird restriction
