Steeply up to the roof © RD
A series of buttress up to 18m in height in the deep gorge of Hudeshope Beck.
On the OSS map it is shown as Skears Scar however it has been recorded as Jack Scar in the Stu Ferguson guide.
A topo is available from www.rock-topos.com
Leave Middleton-In-Teesdale on the road heading towards Stanhope. A short distance up the hill a deadend road drops into the beck. Follow this to the end and park here. Walk up the valley and the gorge narrows. The routes are a short distance further up. Wellington boots are probably required in all but dry conditions or good balance to hop from side to side of the stream.
