Crag features

The exposed headland south-west of Worth Matravers once the perseve of the adventureous swanage trad climber looking to avoid at big swell, is now made popular by two of Swanage's best bouldering venues. Walk past the 12th century chapel and drop down under the coastguard look out station on to the lagdfe grassy ledge a top the not quite as loose as it looks trad routes. The a convenient set of vertical bouldering walls, home it the infamous Dorset 6c. The walls below have a good selection of traditional Swanage route, a good place to practice your adventureus skills with out the inconvenience of the sea washing your rope away. Futher around to the west it the imposing Yellow wall is a step up in comitment.

The wild and sprawling boulderfield of the Undercliff makes the Cuttings Boulderfield seem like Regent's Park. Few people venture here, climbers or otherwise, and it is probably not a place to boulder on your own. However if you are seeking adventure and a sense of remoteness there is little like it in Dorset. The development of the Undercliff was mainly at the hands of Marcus Dymond, often alone and with only one bouldering mat - there's committment for you! West Beach is strictly speaking part of the Undercliff but has a slightly different approach.

At the eastern extent of the under cliff past some out of the way boulders, or some 800m along the coast past to some abseil stakes is the yellow slab of Buttery corner. an unique and isolated venue.
