Crag features

There are many climbs possible on five 10ft tall walls. Crack features, traverses and some good dyno's.

They haven't been named, I made a few routes but injured myself falling out a tree so won't be climbing for a while, that means many routes to be made.

Important - I was clearing the walls over winter for climbing though have hurt my leg and cannot climb for a while and it would be a shame to let this spot go unnoticed and unused, especially in summer. So therefore some light cleaning of the walls will need to be done. To climb you'll need to bring a stiff bristled brush as there is a lot of pine needle fall on the walls due to it being in a wood and not being used regularly. Also a door mat would be wise as the ground can be a little muddy/wet. Its a forest and gets no sun so if it rains it will take a few days to dry if its not hot.

Park at the 7Staines car park, not the dalbeattie wood car park. On the map walk on the main thicker (green) path all the way to sign post 74. Now head along the red path until you come across a stone dike on a slant (literally where it says 'the instigator' on the map), before that dike to the right is a path, head along that path and you will come across some big walls on your left after 5-10 mins, you cannot miss them.

The first four walls are there, very visibile, the fith wall is futher up on the path but needs the most cleaning.

Good climbing.

Additional - easier to access with a bike.  Cycle to post 23 then follow the rough path on the left for a few hundred yards and you can't miss them.  Suspect nothing harder than 6A straight up but good looking bits of granite nonetheless.
