Rocktype Sandstone (soft)
Altitude 153m a.s.l
Faces NE
Now disused railway tollgate at the intersection of a bridalway and the Ridgeway just outside Ogbourne St George. Soft sandstone, 3m man made wall. Fingery, crimpy holds and insecure feet at the bottom. Needs developing and cleaning as there's a fair bit of residual green stuff from never being climbed. Fairly sheltered from rain due to tree cover and may take a while to dry out, possible seepage. Plenty of curious and friendly Ridgeway users. Park respectfully on main road nearby. Watch out for the occasional 'dog egg'.
A346 between Marlborough and M4 Junction 15 where the Ridgeway crosses the A346. Park in either of the two lay-bys and walk up the Ridgeway trail (towards the Uffington White Horse) for about 100m. Wall located on the intersection of the bridalway.
