A hillside with an upper boulder at the top and some lower boulders at the bottom on good sharp granite. The top Boulder is good and nice for beginners and the lower collection of boulders provide a nicer slab and some good technical problems.
The approach can be great as the lower boulders are easily accessible and the top boulder can be found after a trek uphill.

To access parking at the location follow the road past long ash garden centre off the A386 above Horrabridge and take the second exit at the junction and continue until you reach the second farm and turn right down the dirt track. Parking is though the gate on the right at the top of the hill.
To access the boulders walk across the field towards the tree line and to a path used by mountain bikers this can be identified by the small clump of rock by the side of the path as you enter the wood the top boulder is in front of you. To access the lower boulders follow the mountain bike path down to the boulders that will be obvious once you spot them.
There are no other boulders around the hillside and to explore further will result in a fall off wet and dirty cliffs (you have been warned).
Can you make the access description a bit more descriptive? I went today, parked at the end of the track by the farm and walked down the track to the pin that is marked on the map and didn't rind any climbable rocks.
Did I park in the right place?
What path should I have taken? Lewis Stewart - 19/Jul/21 |
