A solitary boulder 10mins from the car near Castle Rock Thirlmere. Many have looked across whilst traveling on the st. John's road and some have climbed on it in the past but now its been documented for all to enjoy!
There is a topo available on lakesbloc courtesy of Ash Clarke.
Ample parking in the large layby at the junction on the A591 where many park for Castle rock. The approach is from here walk along
the path northwards alongside the road for around 100m until you reach a gate and stile, cross this then follow the main
footpath from here, avoid any minor paths and keep right at the fork in the main path after a short distance. Follow this
path for 7-10 minutes skirting above the river until you emerge from the trees and the boulder is clearly visible
approximately 30m from the main path on your left.
