An impressive feature, the main roof of the left cave is for super/suicidal heroes only, the smattering of tufa not compensating for the risks involved in yarding through ridiculously steep territory on football size blocks encased in mud masquarading as sandstone. The black wall which guards the cave's entrance to the south, however, consists of good quality rock above very safe water...
The right hand cave is a very different beast, relatively low yet broad and deep this has potential for a number of roof lines involving 30-40ft of roofwork on compact black sandstone. Water is perfect. The right hand side of the cave contains some more light hearted fare and can be accessed by traversing from Potato Head.
Water is good at any state of the tide although during high spring tides starts will be under water.
Paddle board, dingy, rubber ring, swim or canoe round from Watcombe Beach (5 - 15mins depending on mode of transport) or, for the first two routes only, traverse at sea level from Potato Head, past a narrow zawn to a small ledge just before the cave.
