A wall of two halves: one is steep and has a roof, the other is slabby with small bulges. Local climbers have lovingly developed this little crag. It is dedicated to Luca Pennacchio who died recently in an avalanche. The routes are not long, mostly around 10m and the biggest is 16m. They are all well equipped and the crag as a whole is well suited to beginners. Some more traffic might stop the swelling tide of shrubbery that protrudes into belays and starting holds.
The quarry is characterized by a very rough limestone. Is in in some places quite sharp with good edges.
The difficulties range from 4c to 7b, they are all dressed with resined bolts. A helmet is recommended. The walls are exposed to the south and climbs well in all seasons but summer, when no chalk will save you. It is not reccommended after long periods of rain, as there is seepage.
Climbs 5 to 16 all start from a large smooth ramp that flows underneath and leans away from the crag, it can be a little tricky sometimes to stop personal effects from sliding down. A couple of large bags to store them in may prove helpful.
Park sensitively in Cerrezzata. Via Medole is the street closest to the crag, with an aproach of around 2 minutes.
There is a wire fence erected over part of the approach path and a poster on the obligatory crag billboard which says, among other things, no climbing. It does not say who gave the edict and it looks as though it is regularly ignored.
There are no comments from visitors to this crag. |
