Delf Hill Cave © Niamh Gibson
Gritstone quarries on Delf Hill behind the hamlet of Hill Top. The main attraction is a quarried cave which provides some esoteric bouldering. The cave is condensated for most of the year and only dries out during cold-dry spells in December and January. Make your own assessment of the structural integrity of the cave and enter at your own risk!
Park courteously on Hill Top Drive. Turn left up Green Lane for a few meters before turning left again up the lane just after the bench. At the top of the lane keep left of the house to enter the wood via the footpath gate. Follow this footpath west through the wood until the cave comes into view on your left.
The wood is owned and managed by the residents of Hill Top. They request that climbers please keep away from any nesting birds encountered.
