A wide, impressive quarry but with much loose rock and scrittly features. The climbing is focused on the far left handside of the quarry where the rock is more solid, though there is scope for climbing on the right as you enter.
Grades now updated, will suit those used to gentle hooking of edges and balancing between moves.
The crag would improve quite a bit with more of a clean and some drilled holds, potiental to bolt the steep wall on the right side of the quarry might yield some hard routes.
Park in the layby on the north side of the road, just east of the two buildings by the Cluanie Dam. Hop the fence and take the tarmac road until a path branches left which is then followed round and into the quarry. 5 minutes.
Falcons have been seen nesting here best to avoid Feb - July.
Looks like it might be good for some DT fun. Its really not arose - 28/Oct/23 |
