Crag features

The 'Haystack Rock' is a loose pile of rock but the small outcrop behind it is solid and provides agreable bouldering, especially in the evening sunshine. Although there is not much here, Hidden is a wee gem and is worth the walk. There is probably some more bouldering to develop further to the West at the head of the bay.

Watch the seal bathing in the sunshine when you get tired! :)

Approach notes

From Rothesay, take the B881 Southward. Turn the right turn on A844 and stop at Scalpsie Bay card park area. Walk along the shore towrds the East, passing the seal viewpoint, till you reach the Hay stack rock. The bouldering spot is hidden beding the rock outcrop in the trees.

The spot might also be accessible from the road above but make sure you do not block any livestock gate.
