Crag features

The Ivystone is divided into three features. St Bueno's slab on the east side giving routes HVS-E5. The Main Buttress V.Diff-E5 with a traverse route HVS 5b. The West Buttress V.Diff-E5. Although The Ivystone is surrounded by vegetated cliffs the three above features are solid. There is enough here to provide a days sport on 17 routes up to 100ft, many more than listed in the guide. The foot of The main buttress is tidal, needs a tide of less than 2.2m on the Ilfracombe sill.

Approach notes

Except on the highest spring tides walk along the beach from Porlock Weir SS864478, it takes about 45 mins.

There is cheaper parking at the toll gate Worthy Combe SS858482 £1 per day, walk in along the coast path but the descent is beyond my descriptive ability and the space availiable here. Exmoor climbing is for the explorer and may it long remain so.
