Crag features

Large granite crag with over 1000m of climable rock. Numerous massive faces, with almost all being currently unclimbed.

At lower levels some granite can be slightly flakey, although still largly protectable, as you climb higher the quality greatly increases.

There is huge potential here for some impressive new routes both on the east branch of the valley and possibly the west branch.

Approach notes

Approach on the East side of the Issyk Ata valley (true right). Follow the newly built road until you meet the path on the left (just bellow the waterfall). Continue along this path until you meet the crossing point of the Byty river (about 600m above the conflunce with the main Issyk Ata river, obvious with horse tracks), where the obvious path continues up the west side of the Byty valley.
