Crag features

There is a lower tear to the crag I have named Scaladale Lower. On this roughly 15metres wall there is a potential of 6 climbs. I have currently cleared a route I have named 5.10's which is a grade of between S to HS following the obvious crack on the right hand side. Other possible climbs of higher grades on lower section also just not climbed yet due to poor anchoring at top.

Then there is the upper tear crag called Scaladale Higher which is multipitch. I have led a first ascent multipitch called Flying Scaladale, two pitches with some difficult belay ledges with limited gear roughly sever in grade. There is also huge potential for many other multipitches and singe pitch routes on the upper tear.

Also across from this crag below the road is a huge bouldering area. There a a couple of logs boulders but a vast potential for other logged routes.

Living on an island there a large quantity of unclimbed rock and potential new crag creation especially inland which would be great to log. I have striving to log a number of easier inland routes as there is limited lower grade climbing on the Lewis and Harris.

Approach notes

Entering Isle of Harris passed the Scaladale Centre you will go round two bends. After the second the crag is on the right next to the road. There is several layers on the left which provide convenient parking. The boulders are on the left below the road and main crag to the right. 58.002659,-6.764992
