Crag features
Sames is situated on the steep hillside above the Rio Sella and offers some great lower grade climbs as well as some more challenging lines including a few routes on a small tower feature.
The routes are a little off the beaten track and as such the area can be a quiet place to escape to if the hussle and bustle of the Potes area if it gets too much. The area is quite high so can get the same weather as the Picos and may also offer some respite from the summer heat.
Approach notes
From Cangas de Onis head south on the N-625 for 11km into the village of Precendi where you turn off the road left towards Sames. After 800m you can turn up into the village itself, signposted Escuela de Escalada, head up here to the square and park considerately. Close to the local cafe/bar.
