A lovely single pitch crag set within the Ngare Ndare forest conservancy. Giving a wide range of traditional climbs of all levels and upto 30 routes varying from 15 metres to 28 metres. Superb outlook across Northern Kenya and the conservancies of Lewa, Borrana and Samburu. Good slab climbing, cracks and corner routes and some harder steeper lines. Protection good in general but the slabs more runout. Standard traditional rack should be sufficient.
Camping is availible within the conservancy.
Approach can be made leaving the A2 Nanyuki to Isiolo taking the turn off just beyond the police check at Timau off the tarmac onto rough road to the Ngare Ndare forest conservancy. Once through the gate where checkin and payment is made to the conservancy (check website for the latest cost) follow the road through the park until near the gate marked echo 1 on google maps. The crag will be clearly visible 1 km short of this gate above the road. 5 minute walk from the parking (ample beside the road in full view of the crag).
The crag is situated in the wildlife conservancy Ngare Ndare and as such access requires a payment and formal signing in procedure. This is also an area with Elephant and other hazerdous wild life if your inexerienced in wildlife areas there are armed rangers who can accompany you. The crag is in an open area within the forest where the risk of unexpected wild life encounters is less of an issue than deeper in the forest.
