Climbs 2
Rocktype Limestone
Altitude 2013m a.s.l

Crag features

Peak SW of the Mauria Pass, in the Eastern Dolomites.

A challenging and exposed route with eroded paths, some areas of poor rock requiring route finding and scrambling skills.

The normal route has been graded an EE path (excusionista experti) and is best regarded as an easy mountaineering route. Some via ferrara cables have previously been in situ, but damaged by rock fall and erosion.

Approach notes

Path from Mauria Pass to a military shelter then south steeply through trees on a good trail to base of cliffs (ignoring Olivato path on the right). On the right (red marks), cross debris cone conoid in continuous erosion and go up the opposite side between patches of mountain pines, until you reach the entrance to the gully. Climb with difficulty due to the friability of the ground and with a short climbing step to saddle, continue to the left (N) along a safe ledge, then after passing a short, slightly exposed pass (bolts), you reach a panoramic pulpit on the NE ridge in view of the summit cross. Climb up this exposed ridge, to reach the top.
