Rocktype Sandstone (hard)
Altitude 366m a.s.l
Faces S
A collection of boulders and small faces along the ridge of a hillside. Although I've listed it as sandstone it is actually a Pysgotwr Grits Formation - sandstone and conglomerate, interbedded and is formed in two layers where the bottom part is what might be described as normal rock, somewhere between sandstone and gritstone, and the top part is often a pebbledash version of the same thing. See photos for more. Stay high and go down to the boulders as the area beneath and between the boulders and faces is likely to be boggy. At present, the rock is generously covered with lickens and mosses, so take a stiff brush on a long stick. Typically short boulder problems which could be drawn out into a route to the east. The climbing is on open access land.
A small crag visible in the distance at 52.126222, -3.955783 is only about 2m high with an old shelter built on its southern point.
There are a few places to park, all near Careg y Bwci. 52.109085773593826, -3.9799730153482997 is best for a few cars. You might squeeze a car in at 52.11431296045578, -3.978609638280416 if you're feeling really lazy.
Although I've called it Ffarmers, it is just over 3km north of Ffarmers, but known to paraglider pilots as Ffarmers so I've stuck with the name. One crag is visible from Careg y Bwci, but for the rest, walk up the road, then take the first right where there is a gate saying please keep this gate closed. Follow this road to the boulders. Either the farm track which goes off left, or one which goes straight on will get you there.
