Crag features

Climbing district located above Chialamberto in the middle of the Val Grande di Lanzo. It consists of five sectors (up to Sep 2024) which are partially still in development.

The spot offers a good amount of different styles and routes opened in a very wide span of years. First in the 80s and late 90s some bolted single and multi-pitch lines were established. In the past few years a new generation of young climbers joined the old explorers giving birth to new sectors and routes mainly traditional or clean style.

The style of climbing is mainly technical on vertical walls or slabs with crimps and big crystals for the bolted lines. The trad routes are manly crack lines similar to the one of the nearby Valle Orco.

Approach notes

From the village of Pianardi (stop in the main parking at the center or along the corner of the road) follow the main track immediately above the car parking (sign for "Elefante"). Enter the wood and follow the track marked with yellow dots untill you reach the first sector "timothy" (on your left ascending) 30 to 40 minutes. For the main sector continue 5 minutes more. From there you have all the remaining sectors at a few minutes at most.

All the sectors have a little notice board with the topos at the base.
