The crag is vertical to slightly overhanging and features around 15 routes suitable for dry tooling. It is relatively straightforward to set up a top-rope if needed.
The wall was originally developed by local climber and developer Frank Sætre, Tore Rønstad and Jarle Kalland around 2005, but has undergone something of a revival in recent years, with equipment being replaced and new routes added by Stian Jacobsen, Eirik Hjellset and Trond Kristian Kalstø.
A topo and more information about the crag can be found here.
The approach for the dry tool crag at Munkebotsvatnet is similar to that for the Munkebotn sport and trad crag, You can take bus to Gamle Bergen or park at Sandviken Hospital then walk up the gravel path to Munkebotsvatnet until you reach the dam. The crag is found on the left across a stream.
This crag is widely regarded as the de facto dry tooling location for the Bergen area and at present there are no issues regarding the practice here.
